Some might not agree with our parenting but my girls are well aware of the importance of remembering 9/11 even though they were not born. Ive heard a lot of people talk about their disappointment with the schools for not talking about it. Well Poquoson City Schools did. My girls are in the 2nd grade and their teacher read an age appropriate book to the class and had discussions. At the middle school we display a special 9/11 remembrance flag, our assistant principal talked over the intercom of the facts of that tragic day and we also had a moment of silence at the time the last plane crashed. Tonight Sean and I shared our stories with the girls and I asked if they had seen any of the footage. When they said no I asked if they thought they would like to see some of the news footage of that day. They did...and I showed them a few minutes of it. I was really impressed at some of the questions and comments that followed.
