Some months back, Ayla Nereo and I held a Wildlight remix contest for our debut record Hers Was as Thunder. A chap named Ryan Herr turned in an epic re-imagining of Oh Love. Over a few months, it became the most played remix on the entire compilation. Ryan and I got to chatting, and we started co-creating a little music together, because well…. his guitar chops are off the charts good. He is now a featured guitarist on 3 tracks on the new record, Pushing Through The Pavement. We got together last week for a cup of tea and a hang sesh in my hood….decided to release our track A Prayer for Rain tomorrow. This collaboration is evidence that you never know what collaborations are waiting right around the corner. Keep your mind and heart open, and be ready to co-create if inspiration strikes! Some of the best musicians out there are undiscovered or little known gems that can light up the world. And...It feels damn good to share the spotlight with passionate, motivated, genuine artists.
