Some musings on the outcry arising from the fact that two American health care workers with Ebola were airlifted back to the US for treatment. Many screamed like raped apes declaring that they should have been treated while in Africa. My contention, and some noted virologists and academicians on my friends list (Laurie Garrett, et al) May support me on this, is that they were being brought here not so much out of mercy, but in order to study them, and the microbe itself in a controlled environment like the CDC. I have also heard that this may be a new strain that may be an airborne pathogen and not just contagious by coming into contact with compromised bodily fluids. It may have mutated by way of Iatrogenisis or simply evolved into a new stain. Either way, it should be studied.
