Some observations on vacation while Margaret Pope has a rare turn at the wheel (shes a great driver but if usually rather drive than ride). Bigger isnt always better. The Sensation is one of Carnivals smaller ships, but it was easy to get around. Most inside rooms are all basically the same anyway. We went on a whim - booked it three weeks out - and went super cheap > spent less than $35 on the ship and $0 off of it because we never left the boat at either stop. Carnivals signature dessert, warm chocolate melting cake, is great, but I eat it knowing its going to keep me awake. Carnivals dining room wait staff and cabin stewards ALWAYS hustle. Weve done 11 cruises on Carnival and only have good things to say about those folks. Couldnt asked for better sailings conditions - never felt the ship pitch a single time worth noting. The one complaint we had was the music piped into the dining room each night. The same stuff four nights in a row - songs by the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and even Ave Maria -- ALL of it featuring a recorder, and it was hideous. Why didnt we get off the ship? Wed been to Nassau twice before and arent impressed, and we didnt see anything about Freeport worth $$$. Instead, we had a quieter, more relaxing two days on the Serenity deck (21 and older) just napping and reading and ... well, that was the extent of it. It was a get-outta-town, chill-the-heck out kinda trip. But its nice to be heading home to family and friends :-)
