Some of you have wondered...HOW DO YOU DRAW THOSE THINGS, TODD?!?! The answer is...very slowly! Below is a video that shows a time elapsed drawing of some silly martian dude. The subject matter isnt as important as how I got to this final image. In the first LAYER youll see the blue line sketch I did initially. If you freeze frame it youll also see I had the idea of giving him a pony tail. But decided not to include that in the end. The other layers are just me building up the drawing. First with thin black lines then with thicker ones. After that comes some extra details and the white highlights followed by the graying of the glass helmet to make it feel like its see-through. A little more black here, and some softening of the white there, and eventually a dab of color. All of which takes a lot more time than you think. Hope you enjoy.
