Some of you know that I like a certain website called reddit. Some of you may be wondering what makes reddit so special. Watch this video to learn. TL;DW: Reddit is basically a very well setup portal to share interesting things from the internet with other reddit members. If you use it properly (i.e. setup a username and a personal front page) it takes your personality and interests and matches them up with others like you, and with related content on the internet, enabling you to really expand and hone your interests. How does it do this? 1. Indented comments so that you can have real conversations with people. 2. User created content from its millions of users to provide a variety of topics and to keep it grounded in what people actually want. 3. A stellar algorithm to sort comments and links by how interesting people found it and how new it is. 4. A fanbase that is interested in fairness and quality, so that when corruption arises (yes, there have been scandals on reddit; google Unidan or Woody Harrelson AMA), it can be taken care of properly. 5. Excellent organization and customization through subreddits, and the ability to subscribe to the subs you like and hide the ones you dont. And you can find ANY subreddit out there. No really; check this thread out: reddit/r/AskReddit/comments/20ko25/whats_the_weirdest_subreddit_youve_ever_stumbled/ Reddit users of facebook: Thoughts? Disagreements? More reasons to like it? Oh, one more note. some subreddits have the ability to keep you strangely fascinated by the content. You can spend hours on the site without realizing it.
