Some of you know that I was a massage therapist for many years - TopicsExpress

Some of you know that I was a massage therapist for many years before I became a nurse. Although I was not actively pursuing it as a career, I kept my license even after nursing school. I finally let it lapse last year. As I approach the one year mark I am reconsidering because it truly was something I loved to do. Although I could never do regular massage now because of my hands, I have been impressed to get certified in therapeutic touch which also would count toward my nursing credentials. Unfortunately, I have only 6 weeks until my birthday and need to get 24 continuing education units before then. Big bucks for that plus renewing my license which involves paying for last year, the late fee for last year, and the upcoming year. (Crazy for me who hates to spend money.) I feel like I might like to teach at a massage school. With my nursing background, I feel like I could rock as an anatomy and physiology instructor. Nursing, while a good career, has not been nearly as satisfying for me as massage therapy. I was utterly confident in my abilities to make people feel better and the connection I got providing positive physical touch most often lifted me as well. I need to feed the inner me again.
