Some of you may have been aware that my mother had a very very serious fall on Friday night.To be truthful there was little expectation by us ,the ambos and the medical fraternity of the casualty department of Hornsby Hospital of her surviving to the next day let, alone ever recovering consciousness..however my nearly 89 year old mother appears to be made of much sterner stuff than even we , her family, had ever imagined. As my sister Fran Kendrick put it , Update on mum. We called in on our way to get Maccas tonight and she was snug in bed . Woke her up, had a chat, she cracked some jokes, said she clearly wasnt ready for the valley of death and we left her all snugged up asleep. Her eye is still a big swollen mess and she must have bitten her tongue in her seizure but otherwise she is a delight and a medical miracle. Last night the Casualty Dr said there are miracles sometimes but it was unlikely it would be her. How wrong he has proved to be. Sleep well everyone.
