Some of you may know and others may not believe, but I am not actually a big fan of posting things on face book, at least not anything that anyone else would be interested in. This is probably because I am worried I will be embarrassed by the sympathy I may receive if not because I am a delight then certainly because very few people can make a complaint about my dogs (or at least most of them). I am definitely under no illusions as to why my romantic life has taken a sudden turn for the better with the addition of some more beautiful puppies. It is no doubt strange that I struggle with sympathy and support from others given that I have needed and received the same from people on just about every continent and from all areas of my life. However, despite these noble intentions, I am not unaware that denying people the chance to support me in difficult times is quite selfish. With this in mind I am writing this to let people know of a sad accident that has happened to one of my dogs, Dan. Not least because I have already proved that phone calls are not going to work and have been told that copying and pasting the same text message lacks the personal touch. Dan, brother to Mogli, who has not been able to kindle quite the same affection in me as his sister did last night what no other dog that I have ever had has done - he was invited, no carried onto a bed with me (Mogli joined us for moral support). The reason for this break from the one rule that even Sophie has to live by is that it looks like the poor boy has ruptured all the ligaments that I can name in his knee (admittedly not many) and probably others. This is unfortunately even more serious than the broken leg which was our first suspicions as it is going to require a trip to the specialist this morning after which some difficult decisions will need to be made. Well done if you made it this far, in keeping with my policy of water makes you weak, please do not feel obliged to send me messages of condolence or comfort as I know how busy those of you with real jobs are and I cant tell Dan anyway. Having said that, should you feel compelled to do so I will do my best to pass on your well-wishes but if I am unable to reply it will be because Dan struggles with QWERTY. He can however, count, only to 3 at the moment, so I am sure he would be thrilled if he got that many likes. Happy Wednesday ps those of you who have had the misfortune of being on the end of one of my grammar lectures, even FB isnt thrilled with the structure and spelling of this particular post so I am aware that it is wrongly although at the moment unsure why.
