Some of you may know that I once worked for Girl Scouts of Silver - TopicsExpress

Some of you may know that I once worked for Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council for a period of time. You should also know that I am a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA. I have made powerful, lifelong friendships through Girl Scouts, and it was my pleasure and honor to reconnect with some of my Girl Scout friends today at the American Indian Scouting Association Seminar hosted by my Alma mater, Boise State University. All the workshops I attended today were meaningful in their own way, but I found the session led by Cathie Havlina of Treasure Valley Raptor Rescue to be particularly moving. Being a few feet away from a golden eagle was a tremendous experience. Cathies passion for her work is admirable and the way she connects her work to the healing of wartime veterans and the indigenous people of our area is very touching. Seeing the tepee that was erected on campus by members of the host tribe was also a lovely sight to behold. I marvel at the richness of culture that our area has, and hope that more people will make the effort to learn more about it, primarily by forging new friendships.
