Some of you may remember last year I began an online Alima course with an organisation called Al-Rawiya Foundation based in the USA. My travels in Senegal meant I had to put my studies on hold but was thrilled to find out the course is still taking place but is now an online accredited Associates or Bachelors Degree. I studied the Sciences of the Quran (Uloom al Quran) with Al Rawiya taught by Sheikha Reima Yosif an American Egyptian Scholar, Hafidha of Quran and a woman steeped in Traditional Islamic Sciences. I cant express how much I loved the course and how much I benefited from the lessons and the advice Sheikha gave to develop a relationship with the Quran day to day was vital. I highly recommend this course to anyone, especially sisters to increase their Islamic Knowledge whether you are a housewife or an aspiring scholar, and being taught by a Female Scholar is a wonderful experience, it hits the heart in a certain way. Although this course is not only for sisters and there are male scholars too, I found there was a specific focus on womens issues or womens contributions that are sometimes overlooked that is essential for Women of God to know. Aside from the content of the course, it was amazing to be able to study about my faith in the comfort of my own home with laundry in the washing machine and dinner in the oven, by Allah it truly was a grace and opened me up to the mercy of online education. I want for you all what I want for myself, truly I recommend this course to everyone especially my sisters and the Autumn (Fall) term begins very soon. Check it out
