Some of you may remember my mom and dad (Jean and Lol) who kept the Vic club during the seventies and eighties. Unfortunately, I lost my mom back in 1984 and my dad only recently passed away (Sept 2014), aged 81. My dad was very well known around the village and was always a regular in the Vic, even after he retired, playing for the darts team and, later on the dominoes team. I didnt realise just how well liked he was however, until the enormous support that was shown to me and my husband by the regulars, (old and new) after his passing.There is now a plaque on the wall just above where he used to sit which Mick and Corrine (the current Licensees) had made for him whilst on holiday in Jamaica. I wanted to post this to show everyone what a strong community we have here in Norton (sometimes we dont realise this until it is OUR hour of need) and for that we should be so grateful.
