Some of you might remember, I posted awhile back about a student of mine from Russia Kristina Tutina Kris. She was the one with the dope Puppet style video that worked with us in our styles workshop in Moscow with Pete and Ramon. Here she is in FINALS of Respect My Talent in St Petersburg, one of the biggest one on one battles in Russia. WINNING! This is proof of how powerful some encouragement can be! She has been training HARD for the last year, practicing FOUNDATION, STYLES, TIMING, POPPING, TECHNIQUE. Teachers, if someone is working hard around you...give them encouragement, that energy is motivation to push to the next level. When I was coming up...to hear encouraging words of guidance from the people I looked up to like Skeet, Pete, Wigz, Suga Pop, Dre...etc. Those were things that gave me strength to keep pushing. As the new wave of teachers come in passing on what we learned, we must remember to always be looking for raw talent, guiding it, and ENCOURAGING that talent to grow. That is the true tradition of this culture. Many can enjoy, a select few will be chosen to carry it on and pass it again. Kris, these rounds were so DOPE.
