Some pastors/preachers should learn to tone it down and simply teach the Bible. There are those who simply hoot, get loud, and give a message that has no structure. Certainly I have a lot to learn in years to come in presenting biblical messages, but one thing I strive to do is to give a message that has structure which flows. An older gentleman who visited the church one evening came up to me after service and said, What you did tonight was more teaching than preaching. I wasnt sure how to respond, but Im guessing it was a criticism. I simply smiled. The Bible is meant as the following: All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16), and as a pastor, I am to treat it as such. I simply cannot shout a 20 minute lecture and repeat myself 10x, I must present Gods Word accurately, carefully, and with authority. Certainly I must present a message with passion but it must be with clarity. May God continue to raise up godly men to accurately and properly proclaim the message of repentance and faith. The Church is in desperate need of it!
