Some people ask me, Why do you paint five or ten minis a day? Well, heres the answer. When making the first ever large reactor at Hanford, the scientists needed perfectly sealed containers to load into the reactor. The scientists, at Chicago and Wilmington, DE, made tens, manybe a hundred, yet never made a non-leaking one. The production people at DuPont, engineers, said Theyll never make a good one. He said, well make a thousand a day, they did. Then they took the ten best, and made a thousand more the next day. Took the best ten. Every day for 21 days, 21,000. Then they had a good one. They did a thousand more, the next day, using the one good one as a model, and got five good ones. Next day ten good ones. Finally got to 500-600 good ones per thousand. After 21,000 straight failures, you see. So why do I paint thousands of paintings a year, because every once in a while I get a good one!
