Some people were asking about Pinegrove Annual Day... ..... here is an update: I was invited to be the Chief Guest at the lower school Annual Day, and I am the first female speaker ever at this event. I am following very distinguished people, such as Dave LeBarron from the Hart District and Bob Geiman. The previous day at the upper school, a 3 star General was the Chief Guest. Annual day is a day when the parents come to see and pick up their students (its a boarding school) for some family time during Diwali festival (like Christmas). Its a lot like one our our Presentations of Learning. They showed many of the different things they study and learn here to the parents at the festival. As part of the celebration, they have awards and performances. As the Chief Guest, I was (along with our group) given an official tour of the school, presented the students their awards, and gave a short speech. I chose to speak about making a difference and urge the kids to not wait one more day before they begin to make the world better. We arent sure if it was planned or not, but the content of my speech went perfectly with the theme of the day... which was urging people to make their community better, especially around womens issues and empowering women to reach their full potential, and encouraging men to support women. It was an amazing day all in all. Quite an honor and a magnificent experience. Thank you Bob Geiman for this making this happen for us!
