Some people when they see or hear something beautiful, which moves - TopicsExpress

Some people when they see or hear something beautiful, which moves them, get goosies [goosebumps,] while others have tears fill their eyes. I cry when Im moved. it can be a very liberating way to release emotions - to sometimes have a blub - not great when Im listening to music in a queue or at a prize giving but we all have our own cross to bear. This is a song from the late 1980s [before some of you were born even] which was a terrible and violent time in SAs history - listen to the words and try to picture how the townships were burning and the Ubuntu of the past was suddenly really challenged. i remember well in the 70s that whenever people [even strangers] crossed paths - they would greet each other with such respect. In the 80s when there was so much violence white on black - black on black and black on white - every passing stranger was viewed with suspicion and people started to make a wide berth around each other when walking in the street. It was around that time [when i was also working in the music industry] that many artists, writers and musicians made a valid contribution in promoting changes and highlighting the atrocities that were going on around us. Activists - artists and many reasonable voices [even some politicians] came forward [as dangerous as it was to do so] and helped to bring about the changes that we have today. What breaks my heart is that we have such freedom as never before and opportunities that many of your parents could never enjoy - but many of the community [all races / ages / economic sectors and genders - from all sides of the political and religious spectrum] are still filled with hate and are holding onto [often incorrect] negative perceptions. i have recently started to resist people who think they can say and do anything they like with no respect for others feelings and boy oh boy - it is hard work. yet every time there are those who stand for what is right and in the end having said what i feel - at least - we start the road to change - they say you cannot change others only ourselves - but some changes are required and together we can do great things, Here is a song called Weeping by Bright Blue.
