Some recycled Australian timber. I am making doors and other faces out of what is called generically East Coast Reds, which is any red coloured Australian East coast timber that looks like this stuff. In any case they are very hard, at least as hard as northern hemisphere Oak. They are all a Eucalypt, but it is very difficult, if not impossible to tell them apart. We call some light coloured Eucalypt, Tasmanian Oak, which is a similar colour to the northern hemisphere Oak. I guess the reds look a bit like mahogany- ish.
