Some religions need marketing ?? -------------------------------------------- A lot of criticism has been generated over the over Ahmed Shehzad and Tillakaratne Dilshan incident. Without being judgmental ourselves, we decided to analyse the situation a bit mathematically. What we know for sure is: (I)... In any Islamic nation, according to their book, child of a Muslim father is a Muslim - irrespective of the faith of the mother (reverse is not possible as nikah of a Muslim woman with non-Muslim is not permitted. The groom HAS to convert prior) (II) ... Apostasy (leaving ones religion) in Islam is punishable by death (Hence Ahmeds words: be ready to face the fire) (III).... for any muslim, dawah (inviting non-musim to islam) is one of the prime duties of islam. (IV) ... Dilshan, a son of a muslim father and Buddhist mother chose to follow buddhism (because sri lanka is not an islamic nation) from factoids (I), (II),(III) and (IV) we can deduce that Ahmed Shehzad was simply trying to save Tillakaratne Dilshan from punishment of Apostasy and in process was fulfilling his prime religious duty. Is it heartwarming? is it obnoxious ? you decide. Thanks.
