Some things in life are complicated--tax returns, for - TopicsExpress

Some things in life are complicated--tax returns, for example. But I believe that personal development should be very, very simple. In fact, I believe it should be so simple, that I begin to mistrust any personal development system that gets much more complicated than the following statement: Learn to love the unlovable within yourself. Read that again: Learn to love the unlovable within yourself. I said it was simple. I did not say it was easy. In fact, the difficulty is right there in that third word: unlovable. If it were easy to love that part of ourselves, there would be nothing un about it. But there it is. That big, hairy, stinky unlovable part of ourselves. The part we wish wasnt there. The part weve been taking all kinds of courses to heal, or integrate or transcend. The part we know wouldnt be there if we were enlightened. The part we want to get enlightened to escape. Yep. Its still there. Despite all the workshops, retreats, coaching sessions, affirmations, visualizations, goals set, accountability promises (broken and kept), processes, exercises, sharing, releasing, purging, cleansing, meditating… Despite all that… Its still there. That big, seemingly unmovable part of ourselves that just knows its f*ing unlovable. So what is there to do? Theres only one thing to do. And Ive already said it. Learn to love the unlovable within yourself. Simple, but difficult--difficult enough for a lifetime of practice. (Which will at least keep us teacher types employed a bit longer :) When you learn to love the unlovable within yourself, it doesnt go away (it will always be there…) But… It softens. It becomes more tolerable. It becomes totally livable. And in fact, kind of pleasing (in the way that, say, a beautifully sad song, or a brilliantly dark comedy, is pleasing.) More than pleasing, it is enlivening. It is full of creative tension---the perfect, fertile soil for creativity. Most great art, it seems, comes from this place. From neither the exalted highs nor the pure hell-realm, but from creatively tense, paradoxical mixture of love and fear, love and sadness, love and shame. That mixture feels as though it gets at something essential about the mystery of being human. It feels motivating and energizing. Because I believe this piece is so fundamental to personal development, and has been so central to my own path, Ive created an audio program to guide you through the process. Its simply called: *Loving the Unlovable Within: Making Deep Peace With Yourself* A 90-Minute Audio Program by Michael Ellsberg bit.ly/1mCoNcc My intention is to give you a solid, tight program that can be listened to in one sitting, including theory and practice sessions. My deeper intention is for you to feel this 90-minute audio changed your life. And I believe Ive got the goods. This is not a teleclass, where you have to wait to get the content--it is a pre-recorded program that you can start listening to today, available for instant download, as soon as you buy it. Ive decided to keep the price within reach of anyone who wants this information, in line with a good yoga class or a dance class (except you can do it in your PJs, or as youre on the train or bus.) And I promise youll get more out of it than your typical yoga class. (If not, Im happy to refund your money.) If you buy it this week, youll also get the opportunity to email me questions on the program, and next week Ill send out an additional recording of at least 45min of Q+A, so youll get all your questions answered. Here is the link to get access to this program, via the buttons towards the bottom of this page: bit.ly/1mCoNcc
