Some times at the start of school, I think my kid would be better home schooled. Too much paper work, too many questions that are not their business, too many petty school supply requests, just too much bull crap to keep the public school machine in motion. All that, and they still come out not ready for the world. The teachers are great, most of the admins are great. The policy makers are the ones with their heads in their asses. Think I am exaggerating? Ask your child to recite their multiplication tables. Or how to spell surprise or Mississippi. Or what is the 5th planet from the sun. Or pull out a book, a real book, and listen to them read about 10 pages out loud. If your child can do all these, congrats! They are a genius, or you as a parent have done a great job with further education at home. I unfortunately have not.
