Some would have Christian worship in the Assembly be filled with joy and others that the Assembly be filled with reverence, because there may be some Christians suffering (cf. Jas. 5:13). Both are scriptural. Joy and reverence both have a part (Gal. 5:22-23, Heb. 12:28). Both have a part of "stirring one another to love and good works" (Heb. 10:24). At all times, we all have common faith, hope, and love. Let us always focus on these, and then we will built up in our worship together (1 Cor. 14:5, Heb. 2:12).
