Somebody I know posted a post about responding in anger, perhaps violently to the Muslims in the Middle East responsible for so much evil. (They erased it) Jesus gave us the ultimate example of forgiveness as he hung on the cross saying, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Like 23:34) Stephen have us a great example of how to follow his lead as he was stoned for his faith. While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep. (Acts 7:59-60 NIV) However, Jesus is never a pleaser of men. He always calls evil into the light (John 3:19-21; Heb 4:13) the deeds of these people are evil, however to expect them to see the evil in what they do is to expect the impossible. Jesus quoted the prophet Isaiah when saying, they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’ ” (Mark 4:12 NIV) All that said, Jesus also said this about fighting evil with evil: If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whos name do your people drive them out? So then, THEY WILL BE YOUR JUDGES. In other words, two wrongs dont make a right and if you try to do justice in this way, youll be judged in the same manner. Eddie Yousif, Todd Madurski, Richard Draper, Dan Stewart, Roy Ashley, Michael Lee Emery, Steve Rutherford, Leslie Dunham, Jeff Jolin, what say you?
