Live Attorney, Mr. PUTNAM won a partial victory, by persuading Judge Yvette Palazuelos, that Jacksons attorneys had failed to show sufficient evidence [ another ground for APPEALS ] that CEO Randy Phillips, and Exec. Paul Gongaware were NOT acting as individual capacity, and CAN NOT be defendants as individuals. The JURY will not officially KNOW this until next week or upon Closing arguements. AEG Live, corporation, however is still liable, and the trial goes to closing arguements before September 27th, most likely. THIS IS BAD NEWS for JACKSONS. WARS are won one battle at a time, and PUTNAM is celebrating no doubt tonight, BUT... It also narrows what Jackson Attorneys PANISH, BOYLE need to prove to the jury, which should make THAT easier. . . so the focus narrows. I always said for the last 3 months, I believe AEG would lose this, but that does NOT mean Randy P. and Paul G. w ill have to personally pay out. Which is unfortunate, because these are anything but Choir boys on a prank that went wrong. Clearly Randy said "WE" hired Murray, meaning AEG , he did NOT say "I" hired murray. Clearly they all met with MURRAY as AEG executives not as "personal" friends of MJ, Jacksons can appeal this later. But if they win against AEG, a few billion what would be the point. On the other hand, AEG can now focus on getting AEG Corporation OFF the Legal Hook, and a jury might view Randy and Paul getting off as a signal that AEG should go free too. And even if JURY give a $1-3 billion award to Jacksons, the appeals judges could Negate that or reduce it, so... thing do not look so bright for the Jacksons at this moment. Yet ,if Panish & Boyle bring on some GREAT, knock em down witnesses on rebuttal, I still believe sufficient evidence is ON THE RECORD, to give JACKSON at LEAST a $1.5 billion win.
