Somehow Reggio Emilias approach to life through its communitys 50-year investment in infant-toddler centers and preschools is too often reduced to educationese discussions. This article reminds us that when we live together in early childhood, we are right in the middle of the human experience--each and every day. We are part of families highest highs and lowest lows. This is our privilege, and our responsibility. Reggio Emilia has probably taught us how to see beauty, how to recognize relationships are the heart of every matter, and how political activism for the rights of children is a pretty powerful way to build a nicer world. Children matter.
