Someone asked: Is morality possible without a belief in God? Can one believe in a different version of God, and still be moral? My answer: Atheists can be moral. Some of the atheists I know have high moral standards in ways that sometimes Christians I know do not. Ive met atheists with more integrity in certain areas of ther life than Ive had myself. But the question is not, Can you be moral, but that if there is no final authority, no absolute law giver, then morality is relative. B/c a different version of God will have a different set of morals, and the atheists morals will differ from them both, and still, atheists will differ on ideas of morality among themselves, and so on. So which one is right? Who gets to decide? What happens when 1 Gods morality differs from the OTHER Gods morality. If both are equally valid, then its relative and not absolute...meaning, anything goes. So, its not that you cant be moral WITHOUT God, but that if there IS no God, then morality is what you make it and its anyones guess and game as to what right and wrong is. But that cant be lived out. EVERYONE, when they get done wrong usually says hey, thats not right, you should not have done x,y,z. Once you use the word should, youre appealing to some absolute moral that human beings should share. And if God doesnt exist, neither does an absolute moral code or law. -voi$. #CaptainOG #HappyResurrectionSunday
