Someone asked me recently what I thought about having high tech Church - you know, the smoke machine and laser show thing. Heres the deal for me. Its not what we bring into our gatherings that bother me - its what we come to depend on for our identity, instead, that causes me concern. When the identity of a community that says it follows Christ becomes more about the show than the who....I must admit - I worry a bit. Where is the depth of discipleship listed in the overall priority list of the local bodies we all find ourselves attending? When people ask the question why do you go to church xyz...I hope we can answer with more depth than just I like the worship or the message hits home. Personally I wonder why we are so often so easily satisfied - or dissatisfied? I would hope our answers are more transformative than that. Think about it folks. Dont be so easily satisfied. Ask tougher questions. Anyway - food for thought.
