Someone forwarded me an email today with a plea from someone else - TopicsExpress

Someone forwarded me an email today with a plea from someone else who is asking for $3,000 to commit to a dog, to save the dogs life, and they made certain they bragged about their 501c3 status, with a wink- wink at the end. This is very commendable -being approved for 501c3, and Im sure its worthy of bragging about. I deal with nonprofits who are trustworthy, and I cherish them as my true rescue colleagues, partners, and TRUE FRIENDS in rescue, they are HIGHLY respected by me, and they have earned my respect, and anyone I share their organization with, I make sure they get the respect of others. These 501c3s are the ultimate, the Only Ones, and The Leaders, in my eyes, because they have ALWAYS been there, to help the rescuers like me, who have been saving lives for YEARS: Together, we have all shed blood, sweat, and tears for the animals weve saved, and the Founders of these 501c3s have backed me up in the past so we can all offer donors non-profit tax receipts. Personally, I have gone in and out of whether Rescue, is what I should be doing, though Ive spent my entire life doing it. Im pondering on the idea of focusing on training and rehab. So many nonprofits are taking advantage of their status and using it as a money making opportunity, forgetting about the ANIMALSs wellfare and future success, which is what I thought we should all be focusing on in Rescue. I have a group of ladies who are just waiting for us to begin the nonprofit status, but its frightening knowing we will be in a class where so many have become so corrupt. With all the corrupt 501c3s out there being exposed, why would anyone new to the status, have to bragg about it, and then ask for your $3,000, just to save a life???? Some of us do it for free and then worry about asking for donations later, so the animal doesnt lay there behind bars, suffering, dying, while the potential Rescuer collects the funds they are asking for............ Dear Jesus......... I guess this is the definition of Animal Rescue.... Collect a small fortune, while the animal is behind bars dying, and if you dont receive your Asking Price, the animal dies anyway. So sad :(
