Someone is my melanoma group wrote this and it hit home for me.... This is so true with any cancer no one wishes for it or wants it but we make the best of our situations.... MELANOMA IS NOT JUST SKIN CANCER ITS DEADLY!!!! PLEASE GET YOUR SKIN CHECKED ..... No one asks for Melanoma nor wants it but when given no other choice we have to deal with it, fight to survive and try to never give up. The obstacles are sometimes overwhelming. Its hard to find positives when were in so much pain, so sick and wondering what our fate will be. Its hard to be upbeat and chipper all the time, but somehow we find whatever it takes to continue forward. We have friends that choose to walk away because of their inabilities to be unconditional through all times. We anticipate the outcomes of tests and scans and with every treatment wondering if this will be the one. Some are blessed to be called a survivor while some are called home to get their wings and become our angels while those still here fighting get the name warriors. Melanoma is so much more than skin cancer its the darkest of all beasts but within all the bad melanoma can bring some good if you let it. It brings those special people into your life that become family. It makes your faith so strong that itll never be broken. It makes you be thankful for the simple things, to watch the sunrise and the sunset, knowing that you made it through yet another day. It takes strength to fight a disease but sometimes being strong is hard to embrace. It takes courage to never give up but sometimes its a thought that we have. It takes faith to believe God has a plan but sometimes we have to wonder how much more we can take. It takes love to truly stand by someone whos fighting for their lives but sometimes we find some just arent capable of it. PLEASE PRAY for all affected by this disease. For those whove lost loved ones. For those that are the caregivers. For those that are survivors. For those warriors still fighting. I am thankful for each day I wake up !!!!
