Someone once told me (a long time ago) that late-evening phone - TopicsExpress

Someone once told me (a long time ago) that late-evening phone calls from home are seldom good. I found out last night that Glenn Hemmingson (one of my youngest cousins) chose to exit this world rather prematurely & abruptly last week. He was laid to rest in a very private, intimate service by his Father and Auntie yesterday morning. Some people are given more than their fair quota of personal demons, addictions & darkness. And Glenn, you were given way too many for one young man to try to cope with. Rest in peace, Brother. I hope that you will (finally) find some of that serenity that you seldom found in this world. And that you & Ellen (your mother) will finally be reunited & together again. Arohanui. X PS I cant help but think that the bird that woke up my neighbourhood (at 2.15am, singing its tiny lungs out) had you in mind for its early morning swan song. It was perhaps the most fitting and bitter-sweet serenade & eulogy I have ever heard. I hope it calmed your wild heart & helped to guide you home. “The darker the night, the brighter the stars / The deeper the grief, the closer is God!” (Fyodor Dostoyevsky)
