Someone said recentlyy, Why is there so much violence and sorrow in peoples lives right now? it seems that everyone is suffering from something. I agreed. I live with hurt and sorrow. People share their needs with me every day and my world (and I am sure that your world is the same) is filled with bruised, broken,and hurting people. This should not surprise us. We live in a sin-cursed world and God never told us that life would be a bed of roses. In fact, Jesus promised us tribulations. Personally, I believe that all that is going on just now is preparing us for the hard times just around the corner. I believe we are in that period Jesus described as the beginning of sorrows in Matthew 24:8. We should be practicing good stewardship of possessions, personal habits, and self-denial. As soldiers prepare for battle, we too should prepare for the dark days that are ahead. I urge you spend more time in prayer. Witness to everyone in your family and your friends and neighbors. Time is running out and you may never have another opportunity to win them to Christ. Sounds pessimistic, but Jesus told us to look up when these days came because our redemption would be drawing nearer. Friends, invite people to your church, but better still, invite them to surrender their lives to Jesus. He is our only hope in a world that is running to judgment.
