Something genuinely amazing just happened. As I pushed my cart around my local grocery store I took notice of a happy gentleman who seemed to be smiling at anyone who walked by. This same gentleman happened to be behind me on the check out line, and must have noticed me put a few items back as I reached my budget. I was about to pull out with my car loaded with my groceries, when I saw him standing next to my window. I have to admit, I was a bit taken aback and had no idea if I had done something to upset him, or why he was standing there. (It is cold and raining). I hesitated to roll down my window, but he looked harmless and we were in public in the daylight. As soon as my window was cracked he began, it looks like you might be having a hard time and Id like you to take this. He was handing me a $20 bill. I smiled gratefully and politely declined explaining to him that I could not take his money. He continued to insist, repeating that it seemed I might need it and he felt he was doing really well for himself right now. I attempted to reject his offer again but he was very persistent and expressed how he would please like me to take the money. I finally agreed and thanked him repeatedly until he just smiled again and walked away. I sat there stunned for a few minutes until I completely understood what just happened and was able to drive home. Im full of gratitude and could not be more touched by his actions. I must now find a way to pay it forward!! What a wonderful way to start the weekend! I hope everyone has wonderful weekend!!
