Something interesting happened today. I was showing the Little Miss my new iPhone speaker that is made like an old fashioned tape recorder (on the left). I asked her if she knew what a cassette is and of course she hadnt. So I googled it and found some old tape recorders on there that were the same design. Later on I was telling Milt that Id showed her what cassettes are. He said to her Do you know what a cassette is now? She just looked at him with a blank look on her face then wandered off down the hall. We joked that clearly all that went straight through to the keeper. Oh well, its been a big couple of days, so shes bound to not absorb too much info right now, right? Right then she walked back in with a cool little lunch tin Id brought back from Vegas with me (on the right). She said Look! Its a cassette player too! Once again we had to shake our heads and admit we should NEVER underestimate her mind. She might have communication problems, but never assume shes not taking everything in! #lifewithautism
