Something is terribly wrong with Kenyan leaders. Girls use feathers, animal skins during their menses and it’s not because they love doing it but because circumstances have forced them to. Then a leader and to be precise a ‘woman leader’, opens her mouth and loudly suggests how they should have used mattresses or old clothes. For crying out loud, where will they get mattress sponge if getting beddings is only a dream? Where will they get old clothes to use if what they are wearing a Good Samaritan gave them? Is this leader aware of the meaning of ‘poverty’? Could this mean that as a Kenyan voter we might have messed up and elected the wrong leader? Her comments made me imagine that if she ever visited me and met me having ugali and sukumawiki, all she would say is; “dah……why couldn’t you include meat to make the meal balanced”? Yet only I know where it pitches most in terms of affordability. It is barely a few days ago when another leader without critically thinking, asks citizens who even feeding the children they already have is a problem to give birth to more. For a selfish gain i.e. getting into state house and at the expense of another’s suffering. Kisumu County, instead of discussing serious issues like ensuring water for use is supplied, garbage collected, how to eliminate the water hyacinth from Lake Victoria etc. You are busy trying to discuss how women should position themselves on motorbikes. Before the new government has fully settled and embarked on fulfilling its pledges, others are already up asking Kenyans to start queuing again for increments to moneys assigned to county governments. What the heck is wrong with you Kenyan leaders? Kenyan leaders, why all these misplaced priorities and statements? And to you faithful citizens, who from year in year out have given in to manipulations. Open up your eyes wide, keeping your ears open and ask God to give you the ability to read in between the lines. Say NO to MANIPULATION.
