Something pretty scary happened this morning on my way to see my parents. I was on I-84, approaching the 122nd exit when traffic began to slow. From a distance I could see a man in the center lane moving off to the right. As I got closer, I saw him wave his hands at the car in front of me. It was signaling that it would be getting off on that exit, but last minute, the car swerved from the exit lane and right back in front of me. It wasnt until I was slowed down and this man was 10ft in front of my car that I realized he had a gun. He pointed it at me and waved it around. I assumed he was signaling me to move over so he could safely get across. I sped up and went around him at this point. An hour later I got back on the freeway and it was closed. My parents assumed it had to do with the man I saw. Later I learned that this man was possibly trying to carjack people getting off at that exit. He probably wasnt signaling me to get out of his way, but to get over so he could take my car. That thought is so scary and Im so happy that I sped around him. Just to think I looked this man in the eyes as he was pointing a gun at me. Things could have been worse. Im just glad no one got hurt that we know of and that if mental health was the issue, that he gets that taken care of before he hurts anyone.
