Something snaky (thats a real word!) in the air? Weve stayed away from the dog park for a month after hearing about the snake sightings and the dog that was bitten by a baby rattlesnake, but today we ventured out. 15 minutes into our hike, Kevin almost stepped on this coiled rattlesnake...it hissed at us, or maybe that was its rattle we heard. Luckily, the dog never noticed it. Two hours later, Kevin is biking to City Park and almost ran over the second snake-maybe a bull snake? We will not be visiting the off leash park again until my dog-walking-friends inform me that snake season is over. 22 years in Colorado and this was my first encounter with a rattle snake!
