Something very strange is happening in Barbados and I hope health officials are being honest with the people. Is Ebola already here? The virus has been around since 1976 and this is the first time that there is such an awareness campaign of this magnitude. Lectures for various government departments; lectures being organised for private sector agencies; lectures here, there and everywhere. This is all good precautionary stuff but hopefully if there is a case(s) here, it should be stated. We are a tourist destination and that virus can get here quite easily. It can get here through Barbadians travelling. A big-wig from the Cave Hill Campus who travels to Africa almost annually was in Nigeria in June and only returned here last month. Wonder what is his situation? But this heightened activity has set my instincts going? No need to panic people but it is always best to come clean with them.
