Sometime in the early seventies me and and an old bass player mate - TopicsExpress

Sometime in the early seventies me and and an old bass player mate Steve Emms were trying to get a band together, One Saturday while doing the tour of music shops in Brum we bumped into a drummer we new who was working in Drumland. I explained what we were doing and he asked if we fancied a knock with him and another guitarist he knew. We said yes but he said it was at Eccleshall. So Sat. night off we went, After travelling along all these lanes we arrived at this house in its own grounds, with scrambling bikes outside. As we went inside we went into a large hallway with an 8 stuffed bear-Very impressive ! We were lead into a huge lounge with a big drum kit in the middle, quadrophonic hi-fi, polished oak jukebox, pinball and video games machine. Where were we ?? Atrocity Cottage !!.....Ozzys pad. The other guitarist was Ozzys little brother, the drum kit Bill Wards. Ozzy was on tour- everything covered in a thin layer of dust. Anyway we had our knock, found out the drum shop drummer couldnt keep time, but had some fun. My mate Steve found an experimental synthi-hifli built in a wooden box in another room whilst I relieved myself in totally mirrored bathroom (very strange). The stuffed bear was the one Ozzy took a double-barrelled shotgun to. About half ten all these people appeared after the pub shut and we all ended up sat on the floor eating baked spuds and smoking spliffs ...Ah well, hope this story qualifies, if not plz delete......Mick.
