Sometimes I get REALLY hungry. Sometimes I feel like eating REALLY BIG meals. Staying lean & being satisfied IS possible. The trick to long term fat loss & sustainable nutrition is to always make sure you are eating as MUCH food as possible whilst losing body fat. Stay satisfied - starving yourself is NOT the answer & will more than likely lead to a drastic decrease in gains, sanity & performance in the gym, not to mention a potentially vicious rebound. Calculate your macronutrient requirements & EAT THEM ALL every day consistently to within 5-10 grams. DONT consider these numbers to be the upper limit of what youre allowed to consume each day; EAT ALL THE MACROS! These numbers are what your body REQUIRES based on your composition, activity levels & goals. Dont think youll lose weight more effectively by under eating. Low calorie dieting, whilst effective in the short term can prove costly in the long run. Let’s say you do end up getting to your goal weight eating well under maintenance - you’re in a hurry to look good for your big day after all, whatever it may be. What happens then? Your body has become accustomed to a minuscule intake - are you now going to try & consume the amount of food you were previously & hope to maintain your new weight? Not likely unfortunately. The whole science behind food thing means even if you do ultimately have to lower your intake, its possible to satisfy hunger by eating more foods that are less calorie-dense. Feeling full as f*** & losing body fat? Yep - winning.
