Sometimes I learn a lot from the characters in my books. When I was writing about Bryan and Carolyns wedding in Home of Our Hearts I went back to read their love story in Canary Island Song. I found this quote from Carolyn and thought, Wow. Thats so helpful in my life right now. Thank you, Lord. I dont even remember writing those words 4 years ago when I wrote this book, but I needed to hear them today. Heres the quote: Some things in life will never make sense. They wont be made right or explained. At least in our lifetime. They float around in a swirl of mystery. I wanted God to explain all that mystery to me before I agreed to trust him. But I discovered it doesnt work that way. He is God, and he doesnt have to explain anything.
