Sometimes I wonder if I spent more time in the back of an American Airlines plane than at home – it makes you wonder if the Stewardess recognizes you with a friendly ‘welcome back, how have you been’ (though not as bad as the valet parker at the airport greeting you by name – happened to me two weeks ago!). Maybe I should aim to spend more than seven weeks per year without traveling (as in 2014 – but this should increase to 8 during the last week!!!). I just got to Miami (trip #15 this year) – fabulous city, really enjoying it. Good vibe, great energy and undoubtedly booming (thus we have a number of great projects here). I love the Latin culture – especially during the Football World Cup this summer (the real ‘Fussball’, not the odd sport named football in America that I can’t comprehend even after 15 years here). I fondly remember sitting in some downtown makeshift bar (literally a converted parking lot – check out Baru if you are ever in Miami) with about 400 of my closest friends during the Brazil-Germany game. The high energy and vibe shifted a bit when the scoring started and I was the only one screaming for Germany.
