Sometimes, in my humanness I forget that who I am is enough, - TopicsExpress

Sometimes, in my humanness I forget that who I am is enough, especially when I am hurt or afraid of being unloved. Immersed in the pain and fear that is part of this forgetting I sometimes hurt another. Yet even this- for which I must take responsibility- calls me not to change but to be who I am, to hold myself and the other within my innately compassionate heart. And I learn about the expansiveness of who we are, an expansiveness that makes us capable of compassion where we thought it was impossible. ~Oriah Mountain Dreamer from THE DANCE May we invite & allow our compassionate nature arise today. Being compassionate is never about allowing ourselves to be abused or misused, but holding both ourselves & others in a heart that remembers our humanness. What I have found is that when I set a healthy boundary with compassion- expressing it as my need & choice & not about the other- the other is much more likely to see & be able to honour that boundary. And yes, some days we have to remove ourselves from a place where the other is riding roughshod over our boundaries- because. . . well, sometimes thats what human beings do. Sometimes all I can do is move away & do a small prayer that the other be free from suffering, that the other be well & happy (while holding the same intention for myself.) ~Oriah
