Sometimes it feels as if credit card companies are in the business of deliberate trickiness. Amazon kept begging me to get a card, so finally I did since the credits quickly add up from and for purchases. But you get double points for groceries and gas, so I got in the habit of using it a lot. Suddenly I see a message telling me Experian has noted I am over my credit limit on the card. I never noticed that this card had a very low credit limit, because I am used to cards giving me absurdly high limits that I never come close to using. I quickly got the credit limit increased and made an instant payment, and they are not going to charge me for going over. But it is hard not to feel as if the banks do this kind of thing specifically to catch us.
