Sometimes it seems as Administrator I post something off topic like below... about AIKIDO, a martial art. Trust me I have a purpose. Aikido is not like Karate where your defense is to inflict injury or death on your attacker, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Ai is Japanese for Love or Harmony. Ki is Japanese for your personal energy flow, an Asian concept westerners dont acknowledge unless you do Yoga. Its not that I want all yall to join an Aikido Dojo (school) and learn how to physically defend yourself, although its great exercise, confidence booster, safety training and a useful self defense talent if you are attacked. Why I bring this to your attention is to have the frame of mind of an Aikido master when verbally dealing with nasty, aggressive people... verbal Aikido. There is a book on assertiveness that I love which is like verbal Aikido, a 1972 paperback called When I Say No, I Feel Guilty. I post the Amazon link below in comments. Today I welcome as a new member Roisin Red Zen Pitman, who practices Aikido. From her likes, I found the Aki Extensions group which has insights to Aikido, and how its philosophy impacted the loves of various practitioners.
