Sometimes people just come up and start telling me their stories. Two in a row today. Heres the second, an 85 year-old guy who was a joy and who lifted me out of my sad mood today. He came up and asked me about the tattoo on my arm. He then showed his three, each a flower on the inside of his left arm. They were gifts from his daughters when he turned 50, 60, and 70. He said, I always wanted a tattoo, and wanted one right here. So when I turned 50, I went to my dentist, who did tattoos out of the back of his office. He showed me a book, and there were penises, and boobs, and butts, and all that. So I said, Now thats enough of that, and my wife said, Youre getting a flower. And that was my first tattoo. Among the delightful manner and detail in which he told me about his ink, I think its awesome that he waited until 50 years old to get his first tattoo to make sure it was exactly the right thing.
