Sometimes the folks who tend to have to press in just a bit deeper, fight (the good fight of faith) just a bit stronger, AND believe, trust & persevere without wavering are the people I feel are all-the-more deserving of having their dreams fulfilled. When I think of my über-skilled & gifted producer-friend Vahagn Stepanyan living in Armenia & working to make life happen for him & his family, I pray daily that God sends new clients & friends to honor him & his family even as they strive to bless so many of us relationally, musically & spiritually. When I look at the investment of time & talent Andy Delos Santos puts into assisting indie artists like Yahaira Morales, Mari Paxton, Vahagn Stepanyan and more (including me) to pursue dreams/reach goals even as he fulfills his own, I realize that what he is contributing to us far outweighs what we can sometimes afford to offer him. Nonetheless, one thing we are sure to do is see to it that he is honored & not taken advantage of. (SIDE NOTE: It is a healthy habit to pay family & friends rather than expect their services for free. We should be their base support when possible). I greatly appreciate Andys passion, skill & love for being a part of such a globally diverse music community whose mission is focused on loving God & people. YESTERDAY: I was honored to assist Yahaira Morales as she started work on her first recording project. It will be a bilingual Spanish-English project supported by the Ethnos music vision to capture sounds and songs derived from various Christ-centered faith communities around the globe. Yahaira was born & raised in Puerto Rico. She, her husband Armando & two kids moved to San Diego, California February 2012. Im honored to have them as personal friends & a part of the Ethnos sphere of family & friends. Im thrilled that she is doing this project!
