Sometimes the paths we choose in this life are dictated by the heart. The person I am today was born out of love and determination for another. I truly dont know who I would be without her. Over the decades our lives would cross. Our attraction was undeniable. The earth would shake and cities would burn. We may have not always seen eye to eye though at times we were unstoppable. As I look back I realize that we may have been fundamentally incompatible but the dream of a future together was intoxicating and unavoidable. A life of wonder, excitement and opulence. We would travel the world, experience everything and grow old together. Unfortunately fate was not so giving and over the years weve endured loss, peril and heartache. Over and again the dust would clear and our body and minds would try and heal. Callused and damaged by time and fighting our own inner demons, we lost something... When and where is still up for debate but the end result is the same. She may be right and Im just to stubborn to let go but my heart has never been so heavy as I watch her leave this life and venture out on a new path of her own. I sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and though I wont be there, you will always be a part of me and live on in my heart. Goodbye, my dearest friend.
