Sometimes things happen for a reason....my family was at a water park in TN. In the middle of a perfectly sunny day, it began to rain. I admit it was pretty amusing (listening to the complaints from the patrons and watching the crowds of people wearing bathing suits exit the water and run for cover. Quickly, it was raining hard and everyone was out of the water. As we were standing in a food hut that now was providing shelter to the huge crowd. A petite soaking wet teenager had a seizure. She seized for a few minutes and then laid unconscious until the paramedics arrived, and she came too and was stable. From the time the rain started to the ambulance arriving it was about 15 minutes. As we watched this event unfold and this young ladies story was revealed it was stunning,(turns out she was an orphan from the ukraine visiting a water park for the first time with a host family. My husband and Son made a comment that soon hushed those around us and their whispers. What would of happened had the rain not started? What would of happened if she had that seizure in the water? So the conclusion our son had at the end of the day was that while is was just rotten luck luck for most of us. It was a Godsend for her. Our son Anthony has been mentioning for awhile now, that he wants to be a brain surgeon (I believe that he initially made that decision based on a TV show the discussed the earning potential of surgeons. Now when he wants to become a Doctor and fix people. His words to me were "I felt so helpless watching her. I felt like I should of been doing something." We all agreed that was a moment we will always recall from our vacation.
