Sometimes, trying to keep up with the government’s stories can make you a little dizzy…It seems as if there’s no point in listening to the news these days, because the government changes its story every day. For instance, after about six different excuses, the IRS now claims it didn’t target conservatives. But their first story was to admit it and apologize. If they’re innocent, wouldn’t it have been best to say that first? They say the immigration bill secures the border before granting amnesty. But critics say baloney. They note that Congress has passed similar bills before, so why do we have 11 million illegal immigrants today? They can’t even settle on how many pages it is. One day we hear there’s a 1200 page amendment. The next day, it’s 120 pages. Then it’s just 120 NEW pages. But here’s the real point: no matter how many pages it is, would you be willing to bet a week’s salary that every Senator who voted for it read every page of it? That’s why Americans are tuning out the government’s ever-changing stories: Why believe any story that comes from a source you no longer trust? For more of the Huckabee Report visit MikeHuckabee.
