Sometimes we must act swiftly. But genuine emergencies are rare. - TopicsExpress

Sometimes we must act swiftly. But genuine emergencies are rare. Far more often, slowing ourselves down would greatly benefit others...and ourselves. Please experiment with this exquisite mindfulness recipe. The more heated the demands, the slower the breath. The angrier or more self-righteous the voices (within or without), the slower the breath. The more exhausted, empty, besieged you are feeling, the slower the breath. The heavier the sorrows, the slower (and more compassionate) the breath. How could breathing slowly and consciously fill you up and calm you down? Let breath itself be your teacher. Let breath itself lead you gently back to acceptance, trust and peace: to the experience of your own wholeness and holiness, to true life. (Please share your stories.)
